Sonoma Biochar Initiative Meeting
The Sonoma Biochar Initiative, a project of the Sonoma Ecology Center, is hosting a meeting to showcase the work we and other organizations have been doing to enable more sustainable forestry practices and build more regenerative and resilient farming practices.
We are planning some short presentations but are allowing time for cross-pollination and discussions among the participants as well as networking opportunities in a social atmosphere. Come join us to share your ideas!
The recent U.N. IPCC Special Report named biochar production and use as one of least expensive and most easily scalable carbon drawdown strategies that can be employed NOW. Biochar is also included as an important drawdown strategy in the new climate change documentary film Ice on Fire, produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, that will start streaming on HBO on June 11th.
