Revival: a Southern Gothic Gospel Cabaret
Revival blends honest storytelling with dynamic music. At its core, Revival is a first-hand unpacking of playwright Bobby Britton Jr.'s Texas upbringing, experience with Conversion Therapy, and the music of the Church that raised him. Revival is recommended for mature audiences and explores themes such as self-discovery, religious conflict, deep sorrow, and transcendent joy. Revival is Bobby's second writing adventure. Revival has been in development since late 2017 and has performed at various venues around Boston featuring a rotating guest list of cast members. Bobby, John, and Patrick met at Emerson College in Boston while pursuing their Masters Degree in Theatre and Community Engagement. Featuring John Thiel and Patty Bourree (Patrick Burr).
