musica intima: amore/dolore
"I grieve and dare not show my discontent; I love and yet am forced to seem to hate..."
Themes of love and pain and how the two interact will be explored through Morten Lauridsen's 'Madrigali' and music by Monteverdi and David Lang. We will also revive Jeffrey Ryan's heartrending commission from 2008, 'On Monsieur's Departure,' featuring words by Elizabeth I.
Join us at 6:45 for pre-concert chat with Artistic Manager Siri Olesen and composer Jeffrey Ryan!
