In our Market Garden Weed Management workshop, farmer James Berntson of Radicle Roots Farm will demonstrate the strategies that he uses for weed management on his small market garden-style farm.
James will demonstrate a variety of management techniques, including how he uses wheel hoes, collinear hoes, silage tarps, and low-till techniques for his small-scale system. In this setting, participants will have ample opportunities to ask specific questions, discuss and leave with a variety of resources for their own growing.
This workshop is part of SnoValley Tilth's Weed Management Intensive. Our Weed Management Intensive gives participants a three-season view of weed management at multiple scales and techniques ranging from hand cultivation to tractor cultivation. The intensive is divided into three workshops, each tackling the following topics through hands-on demonstrations with farmer teachers.
