Young Shakespeare's Macbeth
For its 11th season, Young Shakespeare, Austin Shakespeares teen company, will bring their unique flavor to Richard Garriott de Cayeuxs outdoor Curtain Theater (7400 Coldwater Canyon) for Macbeth, which plays for the public Thursdays through Sundays at 8 pm, June 14 23, 2019, with an additional performance on Thursday, June 20. With design inspired by Game of Thrones, Young Shakespeare actors will bring to life the raw fantastical world of witches who lure Macbeth to kill to become King, and then trick him to his downfall.
Macbeth is a primitive world of witches and battling heroes; we have been inspired by Game of Thrones in our costumes and our throne! said Artistic Director, Ann Ciccolella. Co-director, Nancy Eyermann said, The spirit in these young actors can be felt from every seat of the fabulous Curtain Theatre, Austin's Elizabethan replica on the shores of Lake Austin. Macbeth is a fast-moving, incredibly engaging story, perfect for young Shakespeare goers.
