NACEB Summer Meeting
Target Audience: Extension board members, 4-H Council Members, Fair Board Members
When: June 28-29, 2019, Scottsbluff, NE
Friday, June 28, 2019 - 5:00 p.m. Legacy of the Plains Museum (2930 Old Oregon Trail, Gering, NE) Participants are invited to bring their families for an evening of seeing the exhibits of this 80 acre working farm, historic structures and pioneer community artifacts and antique tractors with view of Scotts Bluff National Monument. Interactive Displays.
Social time: 6:00 6:30 p.m. Meet NACEB board of directors

9:00 a.m. Board Tour Trailers
9:15 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Tour of Panhandle Research and Extension Center hop aboard the tour trailers, field tours of research test plots, and HOPS yard, and then inside for tours of greenhouse, weed lab, soil lab, etc. (Please dress comfortably including walking shoes!)
11:30 - 1:00 p.m. Catered lunch (working lunch) Updates on NACEB: February Legislative Days Steve Stettner PILD Advocacy on Washington D.C. Amanda Morgensen NACEB Director Dave Varner - Extension Updates: Flood Recovery, Engagement Zones, Interlocal agreements, etc.
1:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m. Board Member Development - Jo Bek, Professor Emeritus NCTA Utilizing Real Colors: this interactive small and large group discussion will help board members from all types of boards, including those associated with Extension and 4-H, deal with the tough issues of serving on and leading boards, including recruiting board members, volunteerism, conflict between board members, motivation, communication, productive meetings, recognition, public meetings, leaders and followers, delegating, generational differences, developing buy-in. (Teenaged and older family members of workshop attendees are invited to join this session as well!)
