Magic of Wizardy - Improv Comedy class (Bristol)
The Improv Comedy class will develop the actors' skills to embody an emergent creation that is collaboratively adopted and independently celebrated. This course highlights the actor's need for successive co-operative constructing and the capacity to access beyond their foreseeable. Students focus on their immediacy and capacity to allow to form bonds and strands of clear, defined prospects of the overarching actuality and production. Next the students will practice using imagined artifice to open the endlessness of what could be to access what now is. Students will be working through the magic of their selves, and the wizardry of spontaneous moulding.
With mind, body and our verbose antics, we form the art. World creation through Physical aesthetics and the Embodiment of new universals focus the ensemble. In these Retrospective realities, the unexplored can be scavenged. The impossibilities are mobilised.
This course focuses on the creation, broadening the mind to the prospective of what could be and getting to the place that allows you to play, do and be for the best performance. Students will embrace the emergent structuring of the reality, the production and the moment.
In this way of working, students focus on how they can bring more to their shows and their present moments within them. We explore the tools behind meeting the impossible, such as the using world creation and bending physics. Eventually, the students will practice creating full-scale theatre and applying the lessons with a multitude of skills that are practical for all forms of improv comedy and theatre.

Nathan Keates (www.NathanImprov.com) is a professional international improv teacher that has various acclaims in testimonials and toured to various festivals around the world to both teach and perform. Keates has also directed many productions. In this weekend improv comedy intensive, Keates shall lead through topics from Viola Spolin, Keith Johnstone, Del Close and some from the Keates himself (amongst others).
