Soup for Social Justice - Justice for Migrant Families
Join us for our first Soup for Social Justice event of this ongoing series. In partnership with Justice for Migrant Families, we will discuss the major issues affecting our food system and borders, as well as give participants more information on how to get involved locally.
This is a fundraiser for the Massachusetts Avenue Project and Justice for Migrant Families.
This month, we're discussing the major piece of legislation known as NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). This piece of legislation has majorly influenced the migrant crisis, agriculture in the US and Mexico, climate change, and food justice. Come learn about the broad background on this issue, have soup, and then hear from Justice for Migrant Families on ways we can tackle this issue locally.
