Zero Waste Indigo Workshop with Annabella Sardelis
Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop "Zero Waste Indigo Workshop" with Annabella Sardelis on Saturday, September 14th from 9 am - 4 pm!
Reduce, re-use and re-imagine all in one workshop! In this Zero Waste Indigo Workshop, you will learn how to make a natural indigo vat + a handful of traditional and contemporary shibori techniques. Here's an opportunity to bring in white or neutral colored clothing that is stained and as a result no longer worn. Instead of destined for the landfill, it's an opportunity to dye them with indigo, so they are back in action and better than ever! This workshop will be taught outside if the weather cooperates and inside the barn if not.
Annabella Sardelis is the Founder of INDIGO & SNOW, a textile studio dedicated to sustainable design in the Casket Arts Building in Minneapolis. She specializes in hand-dyed and painted accessories, apparel and decor. And she teaches natural indigo workshops with a focus on zero waste practices. She exhibits nationally and her work has been featured by the New York Times, ELLE, and Apartment Therapy among others.
The price for the Workshop is $95 a person (which includes lunch and beverages).
Participants should bring:
* Comfortable clothes and sensible shoes based on the weather
* Apron if you want to protect what you are wearing
* 3 to 5 items to dye
* Pair of Scissors
* Ruler or measuring tape
* Pair of latex gloves
* 5 gallon bucket and dish-tub for transporting work
