Dr. Alan Goldhamer completed his training as a chiropractor in Oregon and as an osteopathic physician in Sydney Australia. He has been the director of the TrueNorth Health Center for the past 30 years. True North Health is a multidiscipline practice includes doctors of medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, naturopathy and psychology and provides both inpatient and outpatient services for patients with conditions ranging from high blood pressure and diabetes to autoimmune disorders. The TrueNorth Health Center provides training for about 30 physicians and interns per year in the supervision of water-only fasting.
Dr. Goldhamer was the principle author of two papers published in peer-reviewed indexed journals evaluating the effect of water-only fasting in the treatment of high blood pressure and diabetes. He is the author of The Healthpromoting Cookbook and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering the Hidden Force that Undermines Health and Happiness.
