Consumer Behavior in the Changing Landscape of Food: Laurie Demeritt, CEO, The Hartman Group
Get an inside look into what's going on in the rapidly changing food industry and learn about current trends based on consumer research. Where does our food comes from and who makes it? How can your foods be as "clean" as possible? How are people shopping for foods differently than ever before?
This talk is being presented by Laurie Demeritt, CEO of The Hartman Group, a leading consulting and market research firm on food culture trends. The Hartman Group specializes in the analysis and interpretation of consumer lifestyles and how these lifestyles affect the purchase and use of household goods, with an emphasis on food and beverage. Laurie oversees all financial and operational aspects of the company including the Market Research, Strategy and Worldview divisions. A nationally recognized authority on consumer behavior, Laurie is highly sought after as a keynote speaker at industry conferences and her insightful quotes appear frequently in national media and industry journals such as The New York Times, National Public Radio, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Progressive Grocer, Food Business News, Forbesand many others.
Early in her career at Hartman Group, Laurie paved the way to innovate a new way to understand consumer behavior in what has become known as the Hartman World Model, a type of segmentation based on consumers' level of intensity in a given "world of activity" rather than standard demographics. Laurie received her MBA in Marketing and Environmental Management from the University of Washington and her BA in Political Science from Cornell University.
The Thrive Fresh Film and Speaker Series is sponsored by Whole Foods and Align Wellness.
The Hartman Group is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington and was founded over 20 years ago.
