Introduction to Modern Calligraphy - POP Studio
In this three hour hands-on class, attendees will be armed with a foundation and techniques to learn the art of modern pointed pen calligraphy. We will start by discussing theory, history, terminology, lettering structure and getting familiar with the pen pressure and ink flow, then move into warm-ups, practice strokes, lower case and upper case letterforms and full words.
You will be provided with high quality tools used by professional calligraphers to take home, including:
Layout paper pads
Japanese black liquid calligraphy ink
Straight pen holder
Nibs
Ink jar & holder
Custom created instruction booklets
Reusable tote bag
Coursework specifically designed for beginners, aimed to equip you with the guidance necessary to begin your journey and love affair with the art of modern calligraphy.
