Ramayana 2019
Enduring 2600 years as one of the world's most widely-read classics, Ramayana tells the story of Prince Ram's banishment from his kingdom accompanied by his wife Sita and brother Lakshman. As they make their way deep into the forest, the trio encounter an array of magical characters, including tribal folk and gentle forest animals, giants and wizards, heroic monkeys and bears, and an enchanted golden deer.

While Ramayana! is a "school play," it is also a massive and ambitious production anywhere in the world and a major contribution to the Indian diaspora culture in the Bay Area. The annual musical production Ramayana! is respectful of the epic's place in Indian religious and cultural traditions, while presenting a modern and accessible story for a contemporary audience.

For more than 40 years Mount Madonna School has been enthralling audiences throughout the San Francisco bay area and beyond! This musical extravaganza includes a cast of 200 talented students and a support crew of faculty, staff and hundreds of community volunteers.

It is a story of love, adventure, separation and an eventual joyous reunion, in an ancient allegory of the battle of good and evil. The show is filled with exciting action, spectacular costuming, family humor and original, live music.

As the story unfolds, relevant, profound and subtle themes emerge, not only the power of goodness and the determination of love, but also the need for compassion to all beings.

Nestled among the redwood forests of the coastal mountains, Mount Madonna School (MMS) is an independent, Pre/K-grade 12 institution serving families in Santa Cruz and southern Santa Clara counties. Fully accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, MMS is dedicated to academic excellence, creative self-expression and positive character development. Our faculty are recognized for creating experiential education filled with heart and meaning.

Full refunds of tickets for those that simply cannot attend are not allowed if it is less than 10 days before show.

Question: We wish to book 3 tickets for the Saturday show. Is there WillCall? Can we pick up the tickets at the site before the show? Not sure how long the USPS takes to reach. We live in Fremont.
Answer: There is plenty of time to receive the tickets in the mail. We don't allow WillCall tickets until about 1.5 week prior to show. The tickets are shipped from Seattle and should arrive in 3-4 days.
Question: What parts of ramayana are covered on each of the three days? Or is it the same show on each of 7th, 8th and 9th?
Answer: Each night is the same show. It is not separated into parts on each day.
