The Other Side of the River, Presented by Backyard Theatre
Love, loyalty, betrayal and loss: The Other Side of the River tells a foundational story of early Canada through a powerful family drama. Based on a true story from the Niagara region, it shows how ordinary people, when forced into extraordinary circumstances, must make impossible choices between loyalty to family and loyalty to nation. The play follows the plight of 3 families (American, Canadian, Mohawk) and is produced by Kitchener's well-loved Backyard Theatre in consultation with three members of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory and in collaboration with Inter Arts Matrix. Written and Directed by Kathleen Cleland Moyer, Presented at the Theatre of the Arts, University of Waterloo, October 3-6, 2019.
