SFWHS Drama Club - The Curious Savage
The Curious Savage, written by John Patrick was first performed in New York City in 1950, and starred Lilian Gish in the lead role. Since then it's become a popular high school favorite. The story is about a group of people who aren't quite fit to live in the "real world," and instead call The Cloisters their home, where they are cared for by a Doctor and an assistant, and mostly, each other. Into this happy home comes Ethel Savage, who is being brought against her will by her children, who are upset about the way she is spending the large inheritance left to her by her deceased husband. The play is funny and heartwarming, and invites us to take a look at what we consider "normal" and "successful." It's something people of all ages will enjoy. We hope to see you there!
