PUBLIQuartet: Freedom and Faith
Cutting-edge New York City-based string quartet PUBLIQuartet, or PQ, brings to St. Paul's music from its second album in this afternoon concert. This exciting, original program explores themes of spirituality, awakening, and inspiration by composers Jessica Meyer, Shelley Washington, Hildegard von Bingen, Nina Simone and more.
PQ will, in their typically stylish and beguiling way, delve into a sound world uniquely their own. Concertgoers will hear jazz, bluegrass, tango, Gregorian chant, and even whistles. PQ strives to give better representation to the compositions of women and people of color, whose voices are not equally represented in our modern musical world. Come celebrate this original program of courageous, resilient, passionate, and intelligent voices.
A reception will follow the program, and all are welcome. Tickets are $20, or $10 for seniors and children under the age of 18.
