RECSI April Dinner Program
Steel-framed building exteriors offer great advantages in strength and durability but present challenges in thermal efficiency. Additional analysis, materials, and labor are often needed to offset these challenges. Where these challenges are not fully addressed in conventional cold formed steel framing, thermal performance suffers and other moisture problems often emerge. The dynamics of condensation and thermal bridging are often to blame.
The positive impacts of dual flanged cold-formed steel studs on exterior wall thermal performance will be examined. Further advantages in structural and acoustical performance will also be explored. This innovative technology mitigates many of the challenges presented by conventional cold formed steel framing and improves the overall assembly performance.
Speaker Patrick Lucas from R-stud, LLC, brings more than 25 years experience in the construction industry. Lucas specializes in all the aspects of real estate development, including land acquisition, land use approvals, financing, arranging civil and structural engineering, architectural, envelope consultants, construction contracts, construction management, tenant improvements, and marketing of the projects.
