2013 FREE Roundtrip aboard the Beacon
This 60-minute, round-trip tour leaves from Slip D64 at Liberty State Park.
Join Dr. Alan Rice from the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department of the American Museum of Natural History to get the lowdown on the Hudson River, from what actually happened when Henry Hudson arrived to how the Harbor was formed. He will also point out how pollution in the harbor has changed and how we can continue to improve it.
The elegant Beacon is a 1920s-style water taxi, built by Scarano Boat Building in Albany in 2002. She is 52 feet and features sweeping wrap-around seating and a small mahogany-topped bar.
Plan to arrive at Liberty State Park at least 45 minutes before your tour. You will pick up tickets at the ticketing table, located by Liberty Landing Marina. Present your ID or a print out of your reservation confirmation to receive your tickets.
Please arrive at the ticketing table at least 30 minutes before the tour to pick up your tickets.
