Combining the plays, Defender and Fight for Freedom, the playwright weaves a story about Harriet Tubmans extraordinary life as a slave, her escape to freedom, experiences as a Conductor on the Underground Railroad, an abolitionist, nurse, soldier, and spy for the Union Army during the Civil War.
