Hope Rising: The Science of Hope - Seattle May 17
Hope Rising: The Science of Hope With Dr. Chan Hellman
Hope Centered and Trauma Informed Please join us for MENTOR Washington's 2019 Spring Symposiums in Seattle and Spokane, and learn what you can do to raise hope. We know that hopeful people will generate multiple pathways toward their goals. Those who have experienced trauma may have difficulty in managing obstacles and developing alternative pathways to achieve their goals.
At this symposium, youth program staff, community leaders, educators, and volunteers will gain useful tools, practices and approaches to advance positive youth development. They will learn about the positive impact of hope on youth's ability to navigate adversity, flourish, and ultimately reach their goals.
Keynote speaker Dr. Chan Hellman will work with you to answer four essential questions: Does hope buffer adversity and stress? Do hopeful children and adults have better psychological, social and behavioral outcomes? Can hope be increased and sustained by target interventions? How can hope be increased and sustained by target interventions? Afternoon workshops will concentrate on building hope for specific populations of youth. Lunch will be provided to all registered attendees. We are excited to see you there!
