Other Desert Cities
This smart, entertaining play explores family dynamics when prodigal daughter, Brooke, returns home to share her imminent book release. Her book chronicles events surrounding her late brothers act of rebellion that shattered more than lives. Desperate to keep her book shelved forever, Brookes high-profile, conservative parents (best friends of Ronald and Nancy Reagan) agonize before unfolding the true details of a tragic wound they don't want reopened. Brookes often inebriated aunt and confused younger brother add a healthy dose of family discord to this play. Other Desert Cities premiered at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater in 2010, and played to sold-out houses.
