The Slave Narratives
The Slave Narratives are Typewritten records prepared by the Federal Writers Project 1936-1938 Assembled by The Library of Congress Project work Projects Administration for the District of Columbia Sponsored by the Library of Congress Washington 1941. Each slave state interviewed former slaves and their experiences during and after slavery. The former slaves portrayed in The Slaves Narratives were chosen for their story and are from the states that the director, Shav'on Smith family mirgrated from.
