You Can't Take It With You
You can't take it with you. The Vanderhoff household lives the expression. They've stepped out of the boxes society has so carefully crafted, and chosen to pursue the things they love the most. Young Alice Vanderhoff has not yet embraced this lifestyle. Self-conscious of her family, she tries to protect her gentleman caller. This tension is the wellspring for antics that follow, as a stream of bizarre characters flow in and out of the Vanderhoff house. From a drunken actress to a Russian Grand Duchess--from an IRS agent to a pack of G-men. Add the gentleman caller's traditional parents, and Alice's hopes become hilariously uprooted. Will true love, individuality and freedom of expression win the day?
