San Francisco Baltic Film Festival - March 23
Over the past couple of years the Baltic States have released a good number of various films, many of them festival award winners around the globe. With the national celebration of the centenary of the Baltic States, film industry in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia received an additional boost by national grant programs fueling the production of even more high quality movies. Responding to the ever-increasing interest in Baltic cinema by local Latvians, Lithuanians and Estonians, the idea to set up an event dedicated to Baltic films emerged. The goal of the Baltic Film Festival is to provide the Bay Area audiences (of Baltic or other roots) with a unique opportunity to enjoy some of the greatest and latest Baltic films.

They're called water carriers, domestics, 'gregarios', 'Sancho Panzas' of professional cycling. Always at the back of the group, with no right for a personal victory. These wonderful losers are the true warriors of professional cycling. Peleton Magazine once posted that Wonderful Losers. A Different World may well be the best bike racing documentary since Jorgen Leth's legendary Sunday In Hell. Review by Olivier Haralambon from L'EQUIPE views this film as more than a documentary about cyclists. It is an aesthetic pearl, the queen of gems, that elevates bicycle racing to the heights of martyrdom.
