Styling Sentences
To love fiction is to love sentences: we are makers of sentences, after all. In this workshop, we will go beyond the content of sentences to study their forms and rhythms. What makes our favorite sentences so great and what can they teach us? Come learn three methods to improve your prose and do in-class exercises to put them into practice. You will go away with a better understanding of what prose style consists of, as well as some tips on how to shape your own personal style.
About the Instructor:
Fred Aceves is the author of The Closest I've Come, a novel set in Tampa, Florida, where he grew up. The novel was a Kirkus Best Book of 2017. A perpetual traveler, the writer has lived in Chicago, New York, The Czech Republic, France, Argentina, Bolivia, and Mexico.
