Once There Were Six Seasons: INTERACTIVE
The multi-faceted event is a re-boot of a work from 2014 that shows how climate change affects cultures around the world. This Earth Day weekend, we launch an interactive experience featuring aspects of the original work, expanded to include two new sections that focus on climate change solutions, on a global and individual level. The audience has a chance to step close to the tiny puppeteered worlds and observe their changes, cheer for the champions of climate change solutions in the Global Arena, and interact with an artist installation to examine their own relationship to climate action.
The event consists of Three Parts:
Part One: Tiny puppet characters made from recycled materials struggle to maintain their customs as their miniature landscapes are transformed by drastic changes to their climate patterns. https://vimeo.com/110016714, featured in Arts in Context documentary, Tiny Puppets from 2014.
Part Two: Global solutions for climate change from Wind Power to Carbon Capture are embodied as wrestlers (from the Lucha Libre tradition), fighting it out in the Global Arena against the baddie agents of climate change.
Part Three: Attendees experience an interactive exhibit examining multiple ways to lessen their carbon footprint, through improvements to the homes, ways of shopping, and transportation.
Created for a multi-generational audience (school age and up welcome). Total event time is approximately 1.5 hours.
