Jamie Loftus is a favorite comedian of ours --AND THE MASSES-- Probably because of her unique perspectives and brilliance on and off the stage.
She's a standup like no other!
She's not only a national talent taking jokes to the stage but has also performed her one-person show I LOST MY VIRGINITY ON AUGUST 15 2010. You might have seen her doing standup or appearing in sketches for paste, comedy central, funnyordie, and super deluxe.
She makes art and toons!
Jamie has done animation and illustration for folks like comedy central, funny or die, super deluxe, vice, playboy magazine, cracked, KPCC, paste magazine, cafe, and released a book called "poisonous people paper dolls" in 2017 with devastator press.
She's a TV and short form writer and has worked on ROBOT CHICKEN on adult swim, UPGRADED and ROBOT TAKEOVER on super deluxe, HUMAN KIND OF on facebook watch, RAT TEENS on cafe, and wrote and consulted on ALL ABOUT NINA, a film directed by eva vives and starring mary elizabeth winstead.
She's also a comedy and editorial writer for almost everywhere including:
Playboy, The New Yorker, Paste, Splitsider, Reductress, VICE, Boston.com, Inverse and more!
THE POD
The bechdel cast is the pod Jamie co-created and co-hosts with BFF Caitlin Durante that examines famous movies with an intersectional feminist lens.
It's inspired by the Bechdel Test (created by cartoonist Alison Bechdel), which requires that a movie has two female characters (with names) who speak to each other about something other than a man. The Bechdel Cast examines one of Hollywood's biggest problems: the under- and misrepresentation of women. But in a funny way! Theyre currently on the HowStuffWorks network.
