Bang Bang You're Dead! by William Mastrosimone
"Bang Bang You're Dead!" forces us to wrestle with the essential questions that arise from school shootings? *Why do they happen? and What can we do about them?
Our goal compels us to find answers, build a stronger, socially-emotionally connected community, and to do everything in our power to protect and increase the safety within our school.
The first act of the play is set in a stereotypical, fictional American high school and follows the lives and struggles of eight teenage archetypes and two faculty members. These characters are not given names but labels, and the two outcast friends designated in the script as "Freak" and "Loner" are slowly driven to crime and madness by the bullying from their classmates.
The second act opens in Loner or Josh's jail cell after he has killed his parents and five classmates. The ghosts of those classmates demand to know why he killed them.
Please join us for a gripping journey as we travel through our deep fears exploring answers to these difficult questions.
*Warning. This production contains strong language and mature content.
