The Classics presents The Mad Hatters Tactile Tablecloth: Explore Alice's Adventures with visual artist Wendy Daws
In this three-hour drop in session Wendy Daws will lead you in a professional community workshop which has a focus on visual/ tactile arts. Wendy is a talented artist with expertise in a wide range of media and an understanding of sight impairment, enabling her to create a portfolio of projects that build on individuals strengths and enthusiasms. Wendy believes strongly that disability is not an impairment to creativity and that art is for all regardless of age, ability or background.
Create, draw and mount a tactile Alice inspired themed drawing of your own to take home, and contribute to a giant community led tactile tablecloth, embossed with colourful squares which will contain your choice of drawn motifs and characters from the book.
Wendy will collect the embossed squares and create a giant community Alice in Wonderland character tablecloth ready for the installation reveal at Faversham Library on the 30th March 2019. This workshop is accessible to the visually impaired.
Ages: All ages welcome Access: This workshop is accessible to the visually impaired and will have a BSL interpreter present. Location: Gravesend Library
