Grit City August Summer Showcase
Welcome to our third showcase in our Summer Showcase Series. We have three great comics on stage for you this weekend.
Nick Decktor
Nick Decktor has described his own comedy as "clever" and "absurd". His humor has been tolerated in clubs, bars, in a synagogue and on a naval base. He was a finalist in the 2013 Shades of Laugh comedy competition. "Finalist" means he didn't win. In his short time doing stand up, he has already established himself as having the loudest laugh in Seattle comedy.
Beka Barry
Beka Barry is not your average "chick-comic". Aggressive, uncompromising, and unapologetic, her brash style forces you to laugh as she shows a side of this world you may not have considered. Clad in black and with a steely wit to match, Beka launches a fiercely hilarious show from the second she hits the stage.
Beka Barry is also not your average PTA mom. Thrust into mommyhood before she was ready, she has encountered a world of responsibility and sacrifice a world that does not contain nearly as much glitz and glamour as diapers and baby puke would lead you to believe. The fun of dating with a child at home, dealing with a meddling mother, remarrying, more babies, and uber-religious in-laws are just a few of the topics touched on as Beka weaves her way through a show.
Seasoned parenting veterans will connect with every word from her mouth, and the young 'uns will actually consider wearing TWO condoms after hearing a mountain of truth. Everyone who attends a Beka Barry show leaves with at least two things: a new found respect for your mother, and a face exceedingly sore from laughing.
Beka has appeared on "The Fugitive," was featured in Nick@Night's "Search For The Funniest Mom in America 2 was a semi-finalist in the prestigious 2000 & 2001 Seattle Comedy Competition, and was named "Northwest's Hottest Newcomer" by Comedy Connection. She also has a great rack. If that matters.
Cameron Mazzuca
Cameron Mazzuca is a stand-up comedian from Tacoma Washington. He has been performing in comedy clubs, bars, and basements across the Pacific Northwest since 2011.
He has been stunning audiences since high school, where he once beat at least two cheerleaders in a high kick contest.
Cameron has a high energy style reminiscent of a loud wildfire of love and fun followed by a beautiful shower of smiles and hugs.
