Godspell

We are excited to announce that the Edgewood High School 2019 Spring Musical will be Godspell (2012 Revised Version). This wonderful retelling of the original 1971 sensation is filled with updated contemporary references, new ensemble driven musical arrangements, and the purposeful expansion of the cast for a larger show with multiple leads and consistent presence of the ensemble. Godspell takes the stories of the Gospel of Matthew and mixes them with contemporary music and references to provide a timeless message on the importance of community. In an age where "being connected" is often referred to, but not often lived out, the musical allows us to explore friendship, engaging and collaborating with diverse people in our complex lives, loyalty and love, and learn what it means to truly live in community, embracing and working towards diversity and inclusion, as Christians. This show provides many opportunities for students to learn and perform in the areas of contemporary music, dance, and exploration of character through improvisational storytelling.
