The Importance of Being Earnest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People is a play by Oscar Wilde. First performed on 14 February 1895 at the St James's Theatre in London, it is a farcical comedy in which the protagonists maintain fictitious personæ to escape burdensome social obligations.

A note about parking: The Metro North parking lot, directly across the train tracks from the theatre, is FREE to theatre patrons from Friday at 7pm through Sunday night. There is an underpass from the parking area to the theatre. Pay to park parking is available at the southern end of the larger Metro North lot. On the river side of the train tracks, there are three parking spots on the south side of the theatre building and several visitor spots on the North side of the theatre. Handicapped parking spots are available directly north of the theatre.
