Seven actors,lighting,live cello music in a staged reading of David Ives' timely, engaging play about a deep thinker seeking truth amidst repressive, theocratic power. With humor, eloquence,humility, and deep love for the truth, the young merchant philosopher Baruch de Spinoza faces the ultimate test of his ideas against the powers of his own congregation and those of Christian Amsterdam.
