Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Registration for Slam Series
Spoken Word Canada member series can register a spot for their official representative to compete in the 2019 Canadian Individual Poetry Slam in Vancouver, BC.
Series registration will be open until 11:59 PM PST on Friday, February 15th.
The 2019 edition of CIPS will take place from May 1st, 2019, to May 4th, 2019, at three venues along East Van's Commercial Drive: Cafe Deux Soleils, Havana Theatre, and York Theatre. Orientation will take place on Wednesday, May 1st. The 1- and 4-minute bouts will take place that night. After a day off on Thursday, May 2nd, to enjoy Talk the Talk, Workshops, and an evening showcase including Mashed Poetics, the 2- and 3-minute bouts will take place Friday, May 3rd. The top 12 poets qualify for CIPS Finals on Saturday, May 4th, at York Theatre.
NOTE: Your series does NOT need to have selected a rep in order to register one. Registration is merely to secure a spot for your series to send a rep.
