Meet Your Public Officials
Every year, the League of Women Voters of Alameda (LWVA) hosts a popular community mixer and fundraiser called Meet Your Public Officials (MYPO). This years event will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 5:30-7:30 PM, in the third-floor ballroom of the historic Alameda Elks Lodge (the liveliest lodge in Elkdom).
MYPO features appetizers and cash bar, raffle and silent auction (gift certificates and other items contributed by local businesses), and a unique opportunity to speed date (five-minute, one-on-one conversations) with the City of Alamedas elected and appointed officials. Make a date with the Mayor, City Councilmembers, Health District and School District board members, the Fire and Police Chiefs, city staffers and more! Signups for speed dating start promptly at 5:30.
The proceeds from MYPO support the Leagues nonpartisan voter services, candidates and issues forums, community education and advocacy programs, and the annual LWVA/College of Alameda High School Civics Scholarship Speech Tournament.
