Merrily We Roll Along
Meet Franklin Shepard, songwriter, movie producer and now a corporation unto himself -- he's got a good thing going: gorgeous house, gorgeous wife, all the trappings of commercial success! ...But, is this success? And, at what cost?
"Merrily We Roll Along" follows the career of Franklin Shepard backwards in time, from successful movie producer to his humbler beginnings as an idealistic and youthful songwriter who, with his best friends Charley and Mary, sets out to shake up Broadway and "change the world." They'll never sell out, never undermine their ideals for a quick buck -- will they? And how will their friendship fare as each of them has to shape and readjust their dreams to negotiate life's twists and turns?
With songs like Not A Day Goes By, Good Thing Going, Old Friends, and the idealistic anthem Our Time, and written by Company authors Stephen Sondheim and George Furth, our production comes from the creative team that brought you Company in 2004 and Cabaret in 2005.
