Ad Mare Wind Quintet
Known as one of Canadas best chamber music groups, the Ad Mare Wind Quintet was founded in 2001. The ensembles name, Ad Mare, is taken from the Canadian coat of arms A mari usque ad mare and translates as between two seas. The members of the Quintet hail from both eastern and western Canada and are all involved with many facets of Vancouvers musical life, as members of the Vancouver Symphony and Opera orchestras, new music ensembles and as faculty members at various educational institutions. Ad Mare has an extensive repertoire and offers audiences a delightful, diverse and educational listening experience covering Classical and Romantic periods, World Music and modern works.
