This season our production is inspired by how we are all pearls of God created to be precious and worthy of His love. Our dancers are exploring themes such as: do you ever feel like you aren't good enough; are you ever exhausted by trying to fit in; do you wish you could be accepted for who you are? Sometimes we make mistakes and give pieces of ourselves to people or situations that make us feel less valuable. We can end up falling into a deep dark pit of despair and self-destruction. Through it all our identity in Christ remains constant. God shines His way into our pit and washes our pearls and selves clean. He shows us who we really are and what our unique purpose is, as He strings our pearls together in His plan.
Crossings Youth Dance Company (aka. CYDC) is a Calgary faith-based performance group that provides an outlet for young dancers to develop their artistic skill and gain performance experience. Through mentorship of the whole dancer (body, mind, spirit) CYDC hopes to expand the dancers understanding and integration of faith and art. As well, through ministry
opportunities such as performing in churches, schools, senior homes and community events, CYDC desires to give back to the community and inspire others.
If you decide to join us at Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, once your ticket purchase is complete, we will be notified. We will provide you with your tickets to the show, either in advance or on the night of the performance (available for pick up from the Box Office - just give us your name when you arrive!).
