Beginner's Improv: Character
The Nursery offer a broad-based training that approaches improv in four different ways in the four different core modules. These six-week courses and weekend intensives concentrate on spontaneity, emotion, character and storytelling. You can take anyone alone, pick your way through them, or do all four back to back for a comprehensive grounding in the core skills of improv.
This course takes place over 6 Thursdays from 7pm-9.30pm
CHARACTER
Do you struggle to play characters apart from yourself? Do you feel restricted by the bounds of your own personality? Do you think you just arent funny? In this module, you will learn to use language playfully and easily, isolating what is fun in the scene and finding how humour doesnt need to be effortful but comes naturally if you relax. In this course, you will find the joy and simplicity in noticing and using what is already happening and how it makes you funnier and more present. You will learn to listen closely and intently and respond to exactly what is happening in the scene.
