Design Thinking Workshop Hosted by TheLab@everett
A Hands-On Design Thinking Workshop

Design Thinking stresses the importance of cultivating empathy for end users, interpreting and framing problems they experience, creative solution generation, and continuous prototyping and testing. Embedded within Design Thinking is the assumption that we must think outside ourselves. Great design doesn't happen within the four walls of a studio or office. It happens in the real world.

In increasingly complex times, innovation and collaboration skills are becoming vital to businesses, and both principles are essential in Design Thinking. This hands-on workshop will lead you through the design thinking process, taught by design thinking professionals that live and breathe in this space. This 4 hour hands-on workshop will explore how human-centered design can help develop innovative solutions for the complex challenges we face as businesspeople, non-profit leaders, entrepreneurs, and global citizens.

Workshop Facilitator: Craig Damlo

Craig Damlo has an extensive background in innovation and new product development. He specializes in using human-centered design principles of design thinking.  He brings this customer first approach to venture capital and incubation, empathizing with customers, and understanding the problems to be solved before a product or system is developed.

An award-winning speaker and innovation influencer, Craig is a sought-after thought leader who has given talks at events across the globe and is an engaging innovation coach.

Previously, he led a corporate innovation center for one of the largest aerospace suppliers in the world targeting cabin/cockpit systems as well as spacecraft systems, collaborating with development teams across three continents and customers across six continents.

He has worked independently with several startups across many industries as an innovation consultant helping them to evaluate new technologies and developments,  build technology roadmaps, and bring those technologies to market. He is also the co-founder of a multinational aerospace systems company.

Craig earned his undergraduate degree in physics and math from one of the top private universities in the American Midwest and completed a graduate program in innovation and entrepreneurship at Stanford.
