BLAH 10th Anniversary Cape Run
**It's BAAAACCKKKKK! Not unlike previous years but please read all details before committing/purchasing!**

Here is how this works. We meet at Blind Lady Ale House, which incidentally turns TEN. WHAT?!

You check in between 9:15 and 10am. Don't be later than 10am. You receive your TENTH Commemorative Shirt, your SOCKS (they are 100% different this year custom SOCK GUY socks, they are niiiice), your race number with it's detachable drink tickets and your route map. You bring your own cape.

At 10am we take pictures and then head off in three distinct routes: each color being assigned it's own way. So you will head to one of three bars: Livewire, Tiger! Tiger! or Toronado. You will run with your team more or less. You will pass other teams on the way. And as in previous years, you will respectfully mock them if you so desire.

At each bar you will turn in a beer ticket that is attached to your bib in exchange for a beer. You could bring dollar bills with you for additional tips, because it's nice. But if you can't, a portion of your race entry fee will go to each bar's staff. When your team captain says it's time to leave, you probably go with them. But you don't have to. But it's a good idea. We do this two more times, at two more bars. The order is dependent upon which color team you are on.

Eventually ALL will return to Blind Lady, your final stop, where you will still have a drink ticket left to use, if you followed the game plan. And there you will receive your final beer.

All this will likely go down in the Hamm's Room but you folks overwhelm the place anyway so...

The whole thing is just over a 5K worth of running and will take at least two+ hours (or more)  to complete because, hey, there is beer involved. Once at BLAH we will NOT call a victor because there are no winners, except that there are. We will award prizes for best cape, most team spirit and maybe a few other awards we haven't thought of yet.

Yes, it's a free for all of sorts. Yes, we reserve the right to be slightly disorganized even after 10 years. But here is the thing: it's DANG fun to run the streets of San Diego wearing a cape in a large pack of people. And it's also DANG fun to run and stop to drink a beer, or four. It's fun.

Here is the important part that we do take seriously-- Please act responsibly and don't use the beer/run thing as an excuse for being belligerent or rude or not following traffic laws. Be a good human.

And please be kind to your bartenders and fellow runners.

Don't expect it to be a perfectly organized race event. It's a moderately organized drinking event with some running and capes.

Also you have to be 21 or older, but you knew that.

When signing up you will have the option of choosing a team color  and this year they are... BLACK, WHITE & RED as long as that team color still has open spots, you can join it. We do this so you can have the same colors as your friends, so coordinate, if you feel like it. The other reason we do it is so we have three distinct groups to send off in three different paths.  There is no other significance to color choices, at this time.  So if you have no affiliation to friends, pick your favorite color scheme. And here is something only slightly new: We highly suggest DRESSING in HEAD TO TOE IN YOUR TEAM COLOR. Why? Because it will look cool.

Finally, you will be asked to tell us your shirt sizes when you order --  please note that the women's shirts run a little small (but not as small as American Apparel has run!)  and the men's shirts run normal. Damn patriarchy.

Oh and remember, we have to limit participants because of space in the bars/restaurants and this does sell out. So don't wait! xoxo
