Left For Dead, Howdy Stranger, Improv Jones
Howdy Stranger, Hackensack, NJ, performs the Cheerleader is our own original opening that inspires a montage of characters and scenes. Taking one word or phrase from the audience, three players share a personal monologue inspired by that suggestion. Each story is heightened verbally in a second round, then physically in a third round. The first three scenes are based on the different monologues. In the fourth scene, a group game explores an alternative view of the original suggestion. After this, a montage of scenes are performed to blow characters and story-lines out of proportion and into heightened realities. Our form is played very physically, fast, and leans toward the absurd. -- Left For Dead, Rochester, NY, "Left for Dead is the newest, oldest improv troupe in Rochester, NY. With more than four centuries of life experience, this team of performers all ages 50+ performs short and long form improv, standup, and sketch comedy. Their signature form, Clusterville, uses audience suggestions to create the quirky personalities and interactions of the residents of a small town. They can still chew their own food and they'll chew yours too." -- Improv Jones, Providence, RI, is one of the longest running improv troupes in the country, celebrating over 21 years as a group and performing in their 10th Providence Improv Fest.
