Calabrese, Hard Fall Hearts & They Feed At Night
CALABRESE HARD FALL HEARTS THEY FEED AT NIGHT $10 IN ADVANCE / $12 DAY OF SHOW DOORS: 8 PM / SHOW: 9 PM
CALABRESE: Fueled by the cult success of "13 HALLOWEENS," "THE TRAVELING VAMPIRE SHOW" and "III - THEY CALL US DEATH," CALABRESE plan to unleash a new album July 2012 - DAYGLO NECROS.
Born in Illinois, Davey, Bobby and Jimmy CALABRESE relocated to Arizona. Inspired by legendary bands and the horror rock genre they loved, they turned off the monster movies and put down the comic books to start their own band in 2003. Bobby had played guitar and Jimmy had played bass in previous bands but Davey was new to the drums. So through constant screaming and yelling, Jimmy and Bobby tore Davey down into emotional scum and built him up as the drumming mad man he is today.
CALABRESE attracts those who feel confused by the current state of popular music. With worldwide distribution through the Internet, CALABRESE are quickly converting an international audience. With consistent touring, classic song writing and a steadfast dedication to their fans, CALABRESE are forcing their way into the nightmares of helpless fans everywhere. "I think CALABRESE is one of the top Horror Rock bands I have heard." Blasko (Bassist for ROB ZOMBIE and OZZY OSBOURNE).
"Please allow me to introduce these horror punk heartthrobs from the dusty graveyards of Arizona. This is a band of three brothers (actual brothers, actual last name CALABRESE) with a wicked MISFITS-meets-RAMONES-meets-DAMNED sound that is tight, hard and fiercely melodic...More often than not I've heard this "horror" genre done really poorly, but this can serve as the benchmark of how to get it right. - Jeff Dahl ( VOX POP, THE ANGRY SAMOANS)
"Calabrese's sound has been compared to The Misfits, The Ramones, and a host of other acts in between. In reality, their unique ability to take burning hard edged rock guitar with crisp clean drums along with darker crooning voodoo vocals sets them apart from any current punk act. By sinking their fangs into their work and locking their jaws down, Calabrese's stalwart approach combined with vampiric biting wit make them a force to be reckoned with on the horror punk sound stage." - Fangoria (America's Horror Magazine since 1979)
"CALABRESE is not just a band that is helping to keep horror punk alive, they're also helping to keep real rock music alive." -Eric Powell Comic book artist and writer, best known as the creator of "THE GOON" for Dark Horse Comics.
"Quite simply, Calabrese is the world's greatest horror punk band and they're coming to get you." Brian Pulido Writer / Creator / Director - LADY DEATH, EVIL ERNIE, and THE GRAVES
HARD FALL HEARTS: Hard Fall Hearts are Bryan Kelly, Kyle Olson, and Eli Rinek. They are a positive, high energy trio that has been non-stop, playing great So Cal, regional, and European venues. Energetic and raw, their live show is guaranteed to make a fan out of anyone. The Hearts are sponsored by Hawleywood's Barber Shop and Layrite Pomade, Lucky 13 Apparel, TUK Footwear, Rat Rod Drums, Rabid Magazine and Supernatural Cymbals. Bryan Kelly, Eli Rinek, and Ian "Rocket" Watson took their own brand of Rock N Roll to the stage a mere 24 hours after their first practice back in March of 2008. Rightly so, HFH titled its debut album, Last 24 Hours. In 2010 the band followed with the darker, more experimental release, To All Believers (Double Barrel Records). A much anticipated third full length is expected in 2012. In August of 2010, at the request of Rocket, J. Michael Niotta took over on the upright bass. Again the band didn't miss a beat, once more performing a mere 24 hours after their 1st practice with the new line up. In Dec. of 2011 J. Michael was released from bass playing duties do to irreconcilable differences. Starting off 2012 with a bang, we welcome Kyle Olson (Rezurex, Altar Relics) as the new "face on bass!" These boys are definitely a band you wanna keep both eyes on. Making friends and fans one show at a time, Hard Fall Hearts are sure to turn any dull day into a wild night!
THEY FEED AT NIGHT: Bursting onto the growing Deathrock scene revival in Southern California, San Diego based band They Feed at Night has played shows with the likes of The Order of The Fly, Kommunity Fk, The Deadfly Ensemble, and Stolen Babies. Although only performing together for a small amount of time they've already made a name for themselves in bars and clubs from Chula Vista to Los Angeles, even performing as far as Las Vegas and Oakland. Consisting of Errol Fritz on vocals/guitar, El Ramon on bass and Rikk Cavin on drums, they play a unique fusion of Horror Punk, Metal, and Surf. Their sound has been compared to Christian Death, Son of Sam, and PiL . However, their growing ghoul army of fans knows They Feed at Night's music is wholly their own.
The full idea of TFAN arose from the tomb sometime in the late 2000's, out of the evolution of unserious musical projects. The founding members consisted of Errol Fritz and Jimmy Bones (late 2000's-2011). When it all began, they never considered playing shows....like traditional rock bands. Instead, they put on makeup, filmed each other in the woods, and isolated themselves in their garage while creating some of the most sinister of tunes. The band eventually got around to releasing their 2009 self titled demo. Very few were distributed and were created entirely DIY.
Jimmy Bones left the band in 2010. Later that year, TFAN released another DIY EP titled "Enter The Swamp". All the instruments on that album were played entirely by Fritz. The existence of the EP was mainly promoted online, due to the band's dissociation with the local scene.
After the release of the EP, the band took a new direction. El Monstro was added on bass and Jimmy Bones returned to the Night. They played their first show in early 2011. Soon after, Bones was detached from the band once again.
It took Fritz and Monstro almost a year to find a replacement drummer....who ended up being Rikk Cavin (LA Girlz). From there, the Night took a new life. By regularly playing live shows, the band's recognition began to spread. March 9th 2013 saw the arise of a new EP titled "DEPRIVATION". The CD marked an important milestone, considering it was their first release as a full band. Most of TFAN's existence has been in obscurity, but this mutation has led the sun to forever set. The creatures of the night have risen....
