Little Me

Join the Penny Seats for our third annual West Park Summer offering! Little Me is the story of Belle Poitrine, a woman who "made it" from the other side of the tracks to a place of wealth, fame, and social position. As she looks back over her life while preparing her memoir, her adventures are highlighted with style, verve and emotion. Little Me was written by Neil Simon, Cy Coleman, and Carolyn Leigh, and originally choreographed by Bob Fosse. This title is known for Sid Caesar performing multiple roles in the original 1960's-era Broadway production, a feat later repeated by actor Martin Short in the 1990's, and undertaken here by our own Roy Sexton!

Picnicking is encouraged!
This year for the first time, our catering partner, A La Rouge, will prepare delicious picnic food for sale at the park! Grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, and a variety of delicious accoutrements will abound. No need to pre-order; just stop by when you arrive. Or, call ahead, at (734) 699-8230, to pick up your order the moment you arrive! Or, feel free to bring your own picnic. Alcohol is permitted as well, if enjoyed responsibly. Picnicking opens at 5:30 p.m. before each show.

Access:
The Band Shell is on the West side of the park, near Seventh Street. There's a ramp suitable for wheelchair entry on that side as well. You may want to bring a comfy camp chair to sit on, just in case, as we have a limited number of folding chairs on loan from the City.

Rain Policy:
The Penny Seats aim to be hearty. In case of light rain, the show will go on. Please check the weather report and dress accordingly. We'll have some extra umbrellas on hand. Should heavy rain, thunder, or other severe weather threaten, the stage manager will stop the show and honor tickets at any subsequent performance.

Parking:
There is much street parking around the outside of West Park. There is also a small lot on the Chapin St. side of the park. And, for a nearly sure spot, the covered parking lot on the corner of Ashley and Ann Streets is just a block or two away.
