Intro to Drone Photography & Videography

Browntown, WI
Share this event:

Whether you already have a drone or are thinking about buying one, join FAA-licensed drone pilot Liam Kivirist for a very introductory session on flying your own drone.

TESTIMONIAL:
"I'm still up in the clouds after this morning's "Intro to Drones" workshop!  My instructors Liam Kivirist and John Ivanko did an incredible job of compressing a lot of practical information into two hours.  I really appreciated that they tailored their presentation to my level of knowledge (I knew nothing about drones).  And the best part was that I got to actually fly one!  I left knowing a lot more about drones and feeling more confident when I'm ready to purchase one.  I highly recommend this workshop to anyone, no matter how technically unsaavy you are.  Drones are the way of the future and have so many uses!  Thanks Liam, John and Soil Sisters for offering this workshop!"
-- Linda Balek, Land Protection Specialist
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County

Liam Kivirist will cover the basics on what to look for if you're in the market for buying a drone. Then, he'll go through an informal mini-flight school before you head out to fly drones.  For those without their own drone, he will offer a little, highly supervised, flight time at very low altitudes with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro+ (if you're ready for it). The Phantom 4 Pro is one of the easiest and safest consumer drones on the market.

Older children (ages 15 and over) welcome with adult supervision and own paid ticket (for the child).

A free copy of Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN will be given away to every family, couple and/or household registered for a particular workshop (a $26.95 value); the free book giveaway is limited to one copy per residential address of attendees.

About Liam Kivirist:

Liam Kivirist recently purchased his first drone and would like to share his first year experiences with prospective and other new drone pilots. He is now an FAA-licensed drone pilot, completing work for numerous clients.

CANCELLATION POLICY: NO REFUNDS.  SOIL SISTERS has a no refund policy. You can, however, transfer your ticket to another person, provided that person is in possession of the ticket at the time of the workshop.
