Crack Me Up Comedy Club presents Ali Hassan with Al Val. Hosted by Lars Classington
Headliner Ali Hassan:
Ali Hassan is a Canadian-born Comedian and Actor. He was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick and raised in Montreal, Quebec.
Ali also has a background as a chef and caterer. At the age of 34 Ali took to the comedy stage to build his persona and increase his confidence in the interests of developing his own cooking show. He continues to have a show in development, but is the Lead Comedy Panelist on the new 'George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight' show on CBC Television for the 2012-2013 season.
He has performed at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, JFL42 in Toronto and the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival - the first ever comedy festival to take place in the Middle East - in 2008 (and again in 2009).
Al Val:
He first took the stand-up and improv stage in 2006.
Al has been performing both ever since, and have appeared on and written for numerous TV in internet shows including "We Eat Films" and "London Tonight with Jeff Leeson".
He has also performed all over North America with his wild, naiive, energetic and eccentric yet clever brand of comedy. A smash hit with students and young adults.
He's currently a member of the sketch troupe "Starwipe" and an executive producer/writer for the late-night comedy talk show, "Leeson's Laugh Lounge"
Al Val is also a part-owner of "Game Changing Entertainment"
Lars Classington:
Fitting that he was born on Friday the 13th, because Lars is stranger than fiction and larger than life. Born in Orillia, Ontario, Classington is a comedian slash actor slash writer slash lover, currently residing in Toronto, Canada. Described as a human cartoon and a "less fat Chris Farley", Lars is the winner of the 2011 "Big League Comedy Last Laugh Competition" and the 2012 London Music Award for Most Popular Media/TV Personality. His comedic raps, "I'm a White Guy" and "My Balls" were featured on The Comedy Network show "Upload Yours".
Lars entertains by combining funny faces and voices with "bull in a chinese restaurant" energy that allows him to command a room like no other (wontons and chicken balls flying everywhere!). In addition to being a producer, performer and writer on the web series & podcast "Leeson's Laugh Lounge", Lars was the sidekick announcer, aka Jeff's "Left Hand Man".
Lars is also a character actor with the comedic dinner theatre company, Mystery Unlimited, playing a variety of characters with different looks, voices and accents. He also showed his adaptability when he performed a season of summer kids shows as Aussie reptile expert "Alligator Al" in his one man show at Reptilia reptile zoo.
Lars has also appeared on YTV's "Zoink'd" as his character "Harmonica Harry", as well as W Network's "Come Date with Me", and he demonstrates a wide range of acting skill from Shakespeare (Prospero in "The Tempest") to Irish musicals. His strong and adaptable voice also lends itself to voiceover work and Lars is also the PA announcer for the Burlington Bandits professional baseball team for the 2013 season.
