Caring for Our Majestic Giants: Oaks in Urban Landscapes
Do you have oaks in your yard? Do you know how to keep them healthy? Although native oak trees have great value in the urban environment, their health can be threatened by our actions. Learn how growing environment, surrounding landscaping, irrigation, and other cultural practices can impact the health and structure of oaks with Bruce Hagen, arborist and Registered Professional Forester and Steve Barnhart, Pepperwood Academic Director. This class will provide a comprehensive overview for those interested in managing oaks and urban oak landscapes through a lecture and hike to visit some of Pepperwood's many oak trees.
