Winter Musical: "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh"

Hello Muddah, Hello Fuddah! is a musical revue based on the song Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh. It is the story of Barry Brockman and his life long sweetheart Sarah Jackman from birth to early education, summer camp to marriage, and parenthood.

Songs include the title song, Harvey and Sheila, and Glory, Glory Harry Lewis. One of the most popular songs, Hello Muddah, Hello Fuddah is based on letters of complaint received from summer camp. The lyrics go on to describe unpleasant, dangerous, and tragic developments, such as fellow campers going missing or contracting deadly illnesses. The young camper asks how his precious little brother is doing, and begs to be taken home, afraid of being left out in the forest and fearing getting eaten by a bear. At the end, he notes that the rain has stopped and fun activities have begun (such as swimming, sailing, and baseball), and asks his parents to kindly disregard this letter. The show was nominated for the Outer Critics Award for outstanding Off-Broadway musical.

Trina Williamson Jackson is directing Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh! She has been on our stage as an actress and has directed several shows at the Jewel Box including last seasons hit Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash. She also directed Grey Gardens and The Marvelous Wonderettes: Caps and Gowns.

The Opening Night Party on January 18th is hosed by The Green Light Diner.

Audience recommendation: All ages except small children.
