The Band's Visit film presented by Mobile Jewish Film Festival
Our final film at USA on Thursday Jan.17th is an older film called "The Bands Visit." If the title sounds familiar, its because the musical version of this film swept the Tony Awards this last spring. A band comprised of members of the Egyptian police force arrives in the middle of the Israeli desert to play at the inaugural ceremony of an Arab Arts Center only to discover they have taken the wrong bus to the wrong destination. Dont miss this charming film involving two enemies, Arabs and Israelis, that shows them as only ordinary people with ordinary hopes, lives and disappointments. Followed by a dessert reception.
