Queer Figure Drawing!
Figure drawing is the practice of drawing nude, semi nude or costumed models. It is wonderful practice for all artists at any level! This is a traditional figure drawing session in most ways except that it is aimed at queer artists and models--in the belief that queer bodies, like all bodies, are beautiful and deserve visibility and artistic appreciation in a safe environment. This is a body-positive space meaning we welcome models of all genders, body types, abilities and racial/ethnic backgrounds. No instruction will be given, you are welcome to stay as long as youd like during the session.
In an effort to be as inclusive as possible this event will be sliding scale, sober and fragrance-free. This is a body-positive event but not an erotic one, models will be treated with the utmost respect. Be considerate of the art materials you bring, please don't bring oil paints, or anything else that emits fumes or is likely to damage the venue. Charcoal, pastel, watercolor and pencil are all safe choices. Make sure your supplies are self contained, i.e. remember a jar for paint water, etc. there are plenty of chairs but no easels so bring your own if you require it. In addition to art supplies feel free to bring snacks, a water bottle and whatever else you need to be comfortable. This venue is wheelchair accessible. 18+
Sliding scale $10-20, helps us cover model payment and the space. Also open to trade, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
